Cast Iron Straight Edges are widely used for erection, commissioning and leveling purpose. I- section straight edges is used to check the surface flatness of large precision area such as surface tables and machine tables etc. Cast iron straight edges are also used for blue matching during hand scrapping operations .I-section straight edges have wide and parallel working surface for application of spirit level. Luthra I –Section straight Edge are made as per IS 5268:1991 Grade-1.

Luthra cast iron I-Section Straight Edges are made of good quality closed grain cast iron strictly as per IS 210:1993 confirming to Grade FG-220:

• Castings are stress relieved either by natural aging or by artificial seasoning.
• Hardness 170-220 BHN.
• Hand scrapped for surface finish of Grade-1 accuracy.
• Wooden covers are provided with each straight edge to protect working surfaces.
• Safe storage wooden box can also be provided on request at extra cost.
• Actual dimensions of Straight Edges may be more or less than those mentioned in the table below therefore the sizes and dimensions of straight edges of the same length may vary.
• Only match pair Straight edges will have the same dimensions (i.e. overall depth). The flatness and parallelism will be within specified limits of the standard and those can be used as Matched pairs.
• I-Section Straight Edges are supplied with computerized calibration certificate traceable to National Physical Laboratory (NPL, Govt Of India ) New Delhi.

Granite Straight Edges are produced from black granite. These granite straight edges are used for setting up machine bases by using spirit and electronic level and reference surface. Both the narrow working faces of granite straight edges are parallel and straight as per standards.

Tools Makers Knife Edges. These knife edges are manufactured from 100 mm to 500 mm length as per IS 3512:1966. Intended for very accurate work, these have one working edge, which is bevelled and very slightly rounded off. The working edge is finished either by grinding or lapping. We make use of high grade alloy steel in hardened form to design these edges. Further, our Knife edges are suitably heat treated to remove internal stress.
