The Metrix+ BTT IR series consists of advanced infrared belt tension testers—model BTT IR 500 (up to 500Hz) and model BTT IR 800 (up to 800Hz)—designed for accurate mechanical strength testing of belts, wires, ropes, and tapes. Utilizing an infrared sensor and laser operating on the time of flight principle, the instrument calculates the natural vibrating frequency of the belt. This frequency value is utilized to determine belt tension via the formula $T = 4 \times m \times L^2 \times f^2$ by setting the mass and free belt length.
