STRAIGHT FLUTE TAPS – SC SERIES

Product Overview

The SC Series consists of straight flute machine taps dimensionally identical to hand taps, engineered with a lead chamfer of 1.5 threads (E/1.5-2P). Designed with application-specific flute and rake angles, these taps are recommended for threading operations on grey cast iron, SG iron, and steel. The specialized design breaks chips into short or powder-type fragments to facilitate bottom threading.

Key Features & Capabilities

Design & Geometry: Dimensionally same as hand taps with application-specific flute and rake angles.
Chamfer: Lead chamfer of 1.5 threads (E/1.5-2P) allowing threading close to the bottom of blind holes.
Chip Control: Designed to break chips into short or powder-type chips.
Material & Coating Options: Available in HSS-E with either Titanium Nitride (TiN - SC3 series) or Titanium Aluminum Nitride (TiAlN - SC4 series) coatings.
