Kristeel Contraction (Shrinkage) Rules are precision patternmaker’s shrink rulers designed to compensate for the thermal contraction and solidification shrinkage of cast metals. By utilizing an oversized scale (1% to 3% oversize depending on the alloy), these rules allow pattern makers to construct patterns that yield castings of the exact design size required. Each rule features standard metric 1 mm graduations on the top side and contraction allowances ranging from 1% to 2.5% on the backside.
