The Mitutoyo Series 513 Dial Test Indicators are precision measuring instruments designed to probe surfaces that cannot be reached with conventional dial indicators. Useful for both alignment and measurement operations, these instruments feature a newly designed contact point holder that prevents backlash and permits smooth pointer operation. Five distinct structural types are available within the series: standard, standard (20° tilted face), vertical, horizontal, and universal configurations.

- Equipped with three dovetails on the main unit to accommodate the standard ø6 mm stem with dovetail groove for adjustable attachment locations.
- Stylus & Contact Points:
- Non-conductive ruby-tipped styli available, offering wear resistance several times greater than carbide tips (safe for use on electrical discharge machines).
- Pointer and carbide contact points are weakly magnetic (magnetic material used in some internal parts).
- Contact point length is explicitly printed on the dial face to prevent measurement errors.
