Product Overview

The Luthra Cast Iron Bench Centre is an accurate and precise inspection tool designed to offer a quick method for inspecting the radial runout of camshafts, crankshafts, and cylindrical shafts. Manufactured in accordance with IS: 5980-1978, these bench centres are utilized in machine shops, tool rooms, and standards rooms to check various parameters such as concentricity, straightness, and true rotation of components. The bench centres are manufactured from close-grained cast iron and finished to a higher degree of accuracy through hand scraping.

Key Features & Capabilities

Construction Material: Made from close-grained cast iron; the base of the bench centres and its heads are artificially stress-relieved as a precaution against distortion and finished by hand scraping.
Precision Centres: Centres are made from high carbon steel, hardened and ground finish, having Morse taper MT-3, and are replaceable.
Spring-Loaded Design: One of the centres is spring-loaded to ensure uniform pressure while holding and easy loading and unloading of workpieces without disturbing accuracy.
Adjustable Heads: Both heads are adjustable for easy and quick setting of the required distance between the centres.
Bed Design: The heavy-duty bed is provided with two T-slots, parallel to each other.
Certification: Supplied with a computerized calibration certificate traceable to the National Physical Laboratory (NPL, Govt of India), New Delhi.
Optional Stands: Fabricated stands with levelling screws are available on request (overall working height of surface plate with stand and levelling screw is approximately 900 mm from floor level).
